latest purchases

Even a small shopping makes me happy. I've spent a lot of money for my prom dress, so I have a small budget now. I was looking for new sneakers and sandals but I see that we really have a problem with nice sneakers in our city.I came across these pink babies at Topshop today. I don't understand are they ugly(because rubber is not the most nice material on the planet earth) or they beautiful but there is definetely something special about them. The shop assistant at Topshop was wearing them(the same model but another colour) in very weird but cute way-with lace leggins and socks with hearts.
I also bought Biotherm clarifying detox cleanser for my tired and dim face.Oh my, I want to be beauiful again!!!university has killed my youth and beauty.

This is what I was wearing today(It's raining all day long). I like mixing different patterns.

wind in the hair

About a month ago these pictures from Stockholmstreetstyle have caught my eye. I don't pay too much attention to mens hairstyles but I really like this kind of hairstyle and I think that it's a must have for guys for this season - depending on the face type it can make a guy look more manly or more romantic.

playing on contrasts

Hello girls! I have a hard time now because I'm writing my degree work, but I hope that I'll be free from it quite soon and I'll be able to plunge into reading blogs, f magazines, preparing for my prom, shopping and nice idleness.Dreams, dreams! Today I decided to give you some eye candy. This photos are from Elle Russia April 2009. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that this photo shoot was made by russian people and not taken from Elle UK or somewhere else. I absolutely love this style and this photo shoot reminds me of burlesque girls like Ulrika. I like how rough tatoos and girly clothes and hairstyle look together. I also like the model a lot because she has a great mimicry and shows different emotions very well.
NB!I think I need your help this time. I need some super sweet and nice but not expensive tennis sneakers for summer(for example floral) that I can buy via internet or I'd like to know some web shop where I can buy turquoise Converse sneakers. It would be very nice if you give me some ideas where to buy them.
Have a nice day!

sexy bunny

I'm glad to see Natasha on the cover again. She is a mother of three children, she made a lot in her life but she still has very childish and innocent face-that's why I love her.

flower power

I had a very hard time lately because I had to pass all my finals so I didn't have any time for blogging and I was really missing it. Last month I was studing like a nerd but I had one interesting day- shooting for summer campaing for my mothers shop where I was working as a make up artist/stylist. It took place at very old and really huge greenhouse.I was very excited because it was a great decoration for bright and wild outfits.
While the photographer was doing her work I was entertaining myself taking pictures of amazing flowers. Nature always creates the best colour combinations and shapes. These creatures are pure inspiraton.

Do you have days that you spend at home when you want to pain your face all over just for fun? I think I had a soundtrack for this "make up masterpiece" ...something like Lady Gaga-Just dance. 80's are back!
P.S. Haha, I hope you are not too scared!

little garden on my legs

Today we were choosing a new girl for summer campaing for my mother's shop. The picked girl is very beautiful and lovely and for my opinion she looks like Gisele Bundchen. The shooting is appointed for the 15th of May and I promise you to show pictures later. Today I was wearing the tights that were given to me by my dear friend Julia.Thank you, darling! I love them because they look like a whole garden on my legs but people were looking at me today like at freak. Ok ,Ok!I know that it's a normal situation for my conservative city. Unfortunately I had to take pictures myself so they are not perfect.I have stolen this Bazar issue(september 2006) from my mothers shop because I was conquered by it's amazing cover!

they deserve it

Yeh! I've ordered a magical t-shirt from Danny Roberts few minutes ago! I'm sure that you noticed that Borders&Frontiers are collaborating with the most popular fashion bloggers now such as Tavi from style rookie,Queen Michelle from Kingdom of Style and many others. I think that it's an extremely interesting phenomenon that fashion bloggers become so popular that all want to buy t-shirts designed by them and they really deserve it because they achieved such success themselves thanks to their outstanding imagination and huge talent.
I have to study like a nerd now because I need to pass my finals, so no posts this week unfortunately...see you soon!

ЧБ

Not so nice day I had today because of the spanish test that I think I have failed. We had +20 degrees outside so I was wearing this outfit to my university. While I was waiting for a bus I was feeling lots of weird looks on me. You bloggers have seen such boots like I have million times before but I'm sure that people that were staring at me today were thinking that I've cut my boots myself.
I took away my new dress from my tailor today and I like it very much though I payed for it quite a lot and I'm broked now.

Really upset

I was very busy and tired lately so I had no inspiration to post anything. The only thing that was cheering me up was a looking-for one interesting fashion event that had to take place this saturday. This event is called "Modny Desant"("Fashion landing") and it takes place twice a year. I think that it's one of the best events in my city because it's organizers always bring fresh designers and bold collections and you always can meet a lot of beautiful young people there and almost all my friends go there every time, so I can see others and show myself. And today I found out that it was canceled for this spring because of the financial crisis!!!I'm so upset now! I was preparing for it for a long time because I wanted to make a special outfit and now I know that all my efforts were for nothing. The only thing that makes me happy is that the organizer's are negotiating with Manish Arora about showing his collection on MD this autumn. If I'll be able to see his collection here in Saint-Petersburg I agree to wait for a long time.He is a person with outstanding imagination and he makes really magical collections,so I can call him one of my fave fashion designers.
P.S.This photo is from the last year's collection by Kosinus-Dj and fashion designer from Saint-Petesburg. In my opinion this character personifies global economic crisis- sharp-toothed, scary and all-absorbing.

Happy Birthday Princess!

Yesterday we were celebrating my friend's birthday. Her name is Yaroslava and she is a very beautiful high society girl so as a joke I call her princess sometimes. Too bad she lives in Switzerland now so I can't see her frequently though she is a close friend for me and I really love her.
We had a dinner with her family and then we went to one bar to drink some coctails. The restaurant where we were celebrating her BD with her family was very pompous and I realized that a person doesn't need expensive meals, champagne and presents for her/his BD to be happy- she needed just a BD cake and twenty candles but they haven't prepared them in that high-flown restaurant and she got them only at that plain bar!

Quite drunk-already at home.

My outfit was very classy(white silk blose with a bow, black skirt, retro style tights and black pumps(my fave and quite old Moschino pumps)) and I looked very appropriate at the restaurant but when we moved to the bar I looked quite weird for such place but i did't care because it was really a great and lovely evening.

P.S. May be this format of my blog is not very handy, but I changed it specially for this post because I think that these photos are so beautiful that you should see them in details.

Tips: How not to be like everyone else

Now we can see globalization clearly-if you visit lookbook you can see that it does not matter from what countries people are they look almost the same. We can blame internet or mass media or fashion magazines for it but it’s a fact and now it’s very precious to be special and unlike. So here are some tips that I think can be useful.

Try to abstract your mind from fashion magazines and blogs. (Yes, they are really interesting but they make such profound effect on your subconsciousness that you starting to copy outfits from them and it becomes difficult to show your own personality through your outfits. Besides that you can see that almost all fashion magazines show almost the same at one season. )

After this think about yourself and try to understand what kind of person you really are and find your own style that clearly shows your character.

Find a good tailor. (I’m sure that all of us have some ideas and dream about a dress or other clothes that they can’t find in any store. In this case tailor is a great helper because usually you can’t realize your ideas just because you don’t know how to sew. Another advantage of tailored clothes is that they fit perfectly.)

Wear DIY things.( when you make things with your own hands using your own ideas it’s almost impossible to meet someone wearing the same)

Buy unique or handmade things.( If you aren’t clever with your hands, Etsy is a great place to buy really unique and special accessories and clothes)

Buy vintage things and adapt them to your body.( It’s not a fresh idea but not all do this. Though it’s also a great way to stay unique.)

Try to find new ways of wearing your clothes(wear your skirt like a top, wear your t-shirts with prints inside out, wear a scarf like a belt and so on)

Don’t be afraid of experiments and don’t be afraid of being absurd. Only those people who don’t think about other’s opinion stick to our memory and become fashion icons. For example : Isabella Blow, Anna Piaggi, Daphne Guinness, Lady Gaga. At first people can laugh at your style but then they start to copy it.)

Find peculiar feature in your appearance and accentuate them. (Your specific features make you different from others. For example: if you have very pale skin-take care of it and be proud of it, if you are curvy- emphasize your shapes and feel yourself very feminine, if you have curly hair-don’t try to straighten them because curls are really nice!)

I hope that these tips will be helpful for you. Be yourself, be beautiful and be happy!
